Welcome to Howe Foot, special accommodation for Ulverston, Coniston and the Lake District

Howe Foot as seen in Alastair Sawday’s
Special Places to Stay British Bed and Breakfast

A unique opportunity to stay in a perfect little cottage for two which is completely separate from the main house. This was once a former workshop for Oak Swill Basket Making, which has been a traditional Lake District craft for hundreds of years. The cottage has been fully restored and is cosy and quaint with oak beams, slate floors with rugs and a delightful woodburning stove. Howe Foot cottage really is a charming hidden gem and perfect for that special break.

Exciting news for Howe foot in 2010

Newsletter October 2009

We are closed at the moment for an extension on our little cottage to include a kitchen, which will house a lovely Rayburn cooker, washing machine and fridge. I shall be offering Self Catering breaks as well as B&B from mid March 2010. Short breaks of three days or more will be accepted for self catering, charged on a daily rate and for a stay of seven nights you will pay for six and get the seventh night free. Bookings can be taken now with full guarantee that the cottage will be ready!

I am so sorry for anyone interested in coming to stay at the moment, but I do hope that you will keep us in mind for any future visits to The Lake District. Please make a note of my charges for next season and look out for changes on the website including new photos early next year. Please feel free to email me if you would like any further information.
