More about Howe Foot
Howe Foot is set in over an acre of ground in the beautiful unspoilt Crake valley. It is approached via a private leafy lane and small bridge over Otley beck. We are idyllically situated and within easy reach of the heart of the Lake District, being just 4 miles from the historic market town of Ulverston, 2 miles from the shores of Coniston water and only 12 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere.
When we first decided to set up our B&B in 2005 our aim was to get away from the norm and go for something that was just a little more special. We had in our garden an old building originally dating back to 1767, which was purpose built for making traditional oak baskets.
We have restored the building to make accomodation for just two people at any one time. You have your own front door, leading in to a porch. This then leads to a sitting room with a lovely woodburning stove, colour TV and tea and coffee tray. Adjoining this is a double bedroom with a shower room.
Outside we have a private patio for you to use which really does have stunning views of the surrounding area and of the garden. If you take a stroll up our field behind the patio you can indeed see Coniston Old Man.

The Farmers Arms Country Inn can be seen on the right hand side. Continue and ignore sign on the right down to Coniston. After 100 yards, notice slow sign in centre of road and sign 'No Footway for 900 yards'. Turn immediately left after this sign at the crossroads.
