New Friend in Tilberthwaite
Herdwick Sheep are unique to the Cumbrian landscape.
The lambs are jet black with white ears when they are born in March and April. As the lamb ages the face, head and legs become white and the first fleece then becomes a chocolate brown colour. After the first shearing (at around 15 months of age) the fleece then turns a silver grey colour.
They are so gorgeous and hopefully many of my guests will get to see them in person this Spring... they are certainly delightful and my very favourite breed of sheep!
